Youth Activities Page

Emmanuel has a thriving youth ministry with groups and activities tailored to every age from one year through high school. Each of the groups is described below. Youth activities range from social times to service projects. Older youth have opportunities to take very active roles in church life. Many help with events for the younger children; assist with the congregation's social ministry activities; and take part in worship services as acolyte, crucifer, usher, assistant minister, and other functions.

Youth Groups. There are four age groups in the Emmanuel youth program.

• LYFE (Lutheran Youth Fellowship of Emmanuel) is for grades 9-12. LYFE meets the first and third Sundays of each month. LYFE has a governing body of officers elected from its membership who help manage the group's business and represent the membership in deciding issues and activities with guidance from adult church members.
  
  
• JOYE (Junior Organization for Youth of Emmanuel) is for grades 6-8. JOYE meets on the second Sunday of each month. JOYE activities are scheduled with youth input and the group has designated adult member advisors.
  
  
• 45ers is for our 4th and 5th graders. They meet at church for adult-supervised lunch, fellowship and fun one Sunday each month. Each 45ers family provides lunch once during the year.
  
  
• CKs (Christ Kids) is for kids age one year through 3rd grade. This group was formed to encourage church involvement and fellowship from birth. There are several CK social events each year, including the Easter Egg Hunt, Rally Day, and cookie decorating.
